Sundaram Forgings, previously known as Precision Forgings was established at Chennai, India as a family run business in the year 1977. The company started its operation with a 150 Ton screw press for manufacturing small components up to a weight of 400 grams. Now it has transformed itself into a forge shop with a battery of machines including Drop Hammers and Screw press of varied capacity, increasing the total capacity of the plant to 2400 MT per year. When the company began it produced forgings only from carbon and alloy steels. Later the company has developed the capability of forging many more materials including Brass, Copper, Stainless Steel and Aluminium.
In the year 1985, a machine shop was established to fully finish the forged components and suit the customer requirements. That shop has now significantly grown into an extremely modern machining facility that machines forgings and also has established a unique name in the valve and fittings industry. The valves and fittings manufactured by this shop have been standardized by the leading air-conditioner and refrigeration OEM's in the country. We also supply raw forgings which are critical components in automobile, tractor and various Engineering industries.
In order to satisfy the growing customer needs, the company had to go in for its first expansion in the year 1995 by adding 1 ton drop hammers in a separate factory. After running our operations from various premises for over 3 decades, we are in the process of integrating all our facilities under one roof. We have started our operation at our new 2.5 acre green field infrastructure from 1st quarter of 2017.
